Dear Aldergrove Families,
It was a beautiful week with lots of sunshine—along with some very hot temperatures! As we continue into warmer weather, we are following the YRDSB Hot Weather guidelines to keep students safe and comfortable. This includes using our cooling stations, moving classes outdoors when appropriate, or relocating to lower-level classrooms where it is cooler.
We encourage all families to support these efforts by ensuring students come prepared each day with:
- A refillable water bottle (hydration is key!)
- Hats and breathable clothing
- Sunscreen applied before school (and sent for reapplication if needed)
- An understanding that we may limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak heat times
School Highlights
Grade 8 Graduation Trip – Canada’s Wonderland
Our Grade 8 students had an exciting and well-deserved trip to Canada’s Wonderland this week! It was wonderful to see them enjoying time together, celebrating their final weeks as elementary students, and making lasting memories. Thank you to our staff for organizing such a special experience.
Grade 3 Trip – Pioneer Village
Our Grade 3 students stepped back in time during their visit to Black Creek Pioneer Village. This immersive, hands-on experience brought history to life and connected directly to their learning about early settler communities in Ontario.
Primary Play Day
Fun, sun, and pizza made for a fantastic Primary Play Day! Students enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities, games, and time together, building friendships and celebrating the joy of play.
Junior Badminton Team – Area Tournament
Congratulations to our Junior Badminton team, who represented our school with enthusiasm and sportsmanship at the Area Tournament. Students showed dedication, skill, and teamwork throughout the competition. We are proud of their effort and positive spirit!
Looking Ahead
It is hard to believe that there are only two weeks of school remaining! While the end of the year is near, there is still so much happening:
- Area and Regional Track & Field Meets next week
- Our upcoming Outdoor Band Concert (more details coming soon)
- Fun-filled Spirit Days
- And of course, our Grade 8 Graduation Ceremony, where we celebrate the achievements and growth of our graduating students
We look forward to making the most of these final days together.
Theme for the Week
“Finish Strong”
“It’s not how you start, but how you finish that matters.”
Let’s continue to encourage our scholars to put forth their best effort, support one another, and enjoy these final weeks of learning and celebration.
Warm regards,
Mr. Louca Mr. Pamayah
Principal Vice Principal

Notice of Early Dismissal
All schools in the York Region District School Board are committed to improving student achievement and well-being. On Thursday, June 25, 2026, an early release day will take place to allow elementary staff to take part in meetings during the afternoon of that day. These meetings will allow school staff to engage in culminating activities regarding the review and revision of the School’s Improvement Plan, as well as year-end and transition activities that support student success.
As has been our practice in the past, students will attend school on the morning of Thursday, June 25, 2026, only. Students will be dismissed early that day at 12:00 pm. Arrangements will be made to ensure that students who are normally bused to and from school will receive transportation at this time. Families whose children attend after-school child care should make appropriate arrangements to address this change in schedule.
