Message from Admin

Dear Aldergrove Families,

It has been another full week at Aldergrove full of exploration, critical thinking and community. It was wonderful seeing parents/guardians at our second School Council meeting on Thursday night. We had a visit from our Public Health Nurse who shared some great information on healthy living habits for both body and mind. The connection between school, home and community is integral to helping our scholars become well-rounded citizens and is something we strive to connect intentionally.

At Aldergrove, we continue to center our work around three key pillars: Mental Health and Well-being, Student Achievement, and Equity and Human Rights. We are committed to creating a learning environment where every student feels safe, supported, and inspired to thrive. Through inclusive practices, meaningful learning experiences, and a focus on student voice, we aim to nurture not only academic success but also the emotional and social growth of every child. The guest speakers we invite, the field trips we select, and the programs we offer are all thoughtfully chosen to reflect these values. Whether it's a presentation that sparks curiosity, an outdoor experience that builds resilience, or a school-wide initiative that fosters belonging, we are constantly reflecting on the impact of these opportunities.

Our goal is to ensure that every experience contributes meaningfully to our students’ development and aligns with our commitment to equity, well-being, and achievement. We believe in recognizing and nurturing the unique strengths of every student. Each child brings their own perspective, talents, and ways of learning—and it’s our responsibility to create an environment where those differences are celebrated and supported. As Robert John Meehan reminds us:

“Every child has a different learning style and pace. Each child is unique, not only capable of learning but also capable of succeeding.”
 — Robert John Meehan

Thank you for partnering with us in this important work.

Warm regards,

Allergy Reminder!!

As we settle back into routine after Halloween, we’ve noticed an increase in snacks containing peanuts being brought to school. We kindly remind families to be extra vigilant when packing lunches and snacks. Aldergrove is a nut safe school, and we have students with life-threatening allergies.

Please double-check ingredient labels and do not send items that contain peanuts or tree nuts. Your attention to this helps us maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

Morning Drop-Off Reminders

A reminder that when dropping off students in the Kiss-and-Ride area in the mornings, we ask that you please drive as far down towards the exit as possible before letting students out of the car. This allows us to fit more cars into the Kiss-and-Ride and to keep traffic safely moving. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
