Message from Admin

Dear Aldergrove Families,

It’s been a vibrant and busy week at Aldergrove! We celebrated Diwali, embracing the spirit of light and community. Our Grade 4s ventured to Milne Outdoor Education Centre, enjoying nature and hands-on learning. Intermediate Boys volleyball exhibition games continued, showcasing teamwork and school spirit. Our Grade 8s had a special high school info session, led by former Aldergrove students—an inspiring look ahead! We also welcomed new families at our “New to Aldergrove” event, and two of our students proudly represented us at the Cross-Country Regionals. Our Aldergrove garden at the front of the school has also magically transformed into a pumpkin patch just in time for Halloween!

Looking ahead to next week:

  • Grade 7s will head to Milne for their outdoor education experience
  • Dairy Farmers presentations begin in select classes—moo-ving into some fun learning!
  • More volleyball exhibition games for our Intermediate girls
  • Friday is Halloween/Dress-Up Day—please see below for important details.
  • We’ll also be hosting a Grade 7/8 Fall Dance to celebrate the season.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement. We’re looking forward to another exciting week ahead!

Warm regards,

Halloween Costume Guidelines

As we prepare for Halloween Dress-Up Day this Friday, we encourage families to help students select costumes that are fun, inclusive, and respectful of our diverse school community. While we celebrate the season, we continue to engage students in meaningful learning throughout the day.

Please keep in mind:

  • No Halloween masks are to be worn.
  • No replica weapons of any kind are allowed.
  • Students should only use single-use make-up (sharing of make-up is not recommended).
  • Costumes should not include cultural, ethnic, or religious symbols or attire that may stereotype or trivialize others’ identities.
  • In the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation, we ask that costumes do not devalue or misrepresent Indigenous Peoples or cultures.
  • We encourage creative and kind choices—costumes should be school-appropriate and sensitive to all students’ experiences.
  • For those who do not celebrate Halloween, we offer alternative ways to participate, such as wearing orange and black or celebrating the season through harvest-themed activities.

Thank you for helping us create a safe, inclusive, and joyful environment for all students

Lunch Drop-off

A quick reminder to help us maintain a safe and smoothly running school environment: when dropping off lunches for your child, please place them on the designated cart in the front lobby and then exit the building promptly.

We kindly ask that families do not wait in the lobby to hand lunches directly to students or to greet them. This helps us ensure we can monitor who is in the building and maintain a safe space for all.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support in keeping Aldergrove a safe and welcoming place for everyone!
