What a September to Remember!
September was an incredible start to the school year, filled with energy, learning, and connection. It was wonderful to see so many families come together at our Meet the Family event last night! Your participation and support help make our school community such a special place. We’re excited to carry this momentum into an even more amazing October! We have lots of exciting learning opportunities and events planned for October so please check the calendar for more details.
This coming week is Safety Week at Aldergrove and across YRDSB. As safety is our top priority, we will be practicing various safety drills throughout the week. See below for more information.
On Tuesday, September 30th we will recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We encourage staff and students to wear an orange shirt on September 30th to recognize the bravery and resilience of survivors and those who never returned home.
In appreciation of your continued partnership in supporting all of our scholars,
Mr. Louca Mr. Pamayah
Principal Vice Principal
Breakfast Club at Aldergrove
Just a reminder that our school nutrition program (Breakfast Club) runs every morning! Students are invited from 8:00 to 8:15 am to enjoy a nutritious breakfast that will help them be ready for a full day of learning and activity. If you have any questions about this program, please feel free to contact the office.
Safety Week
The York Region School Board is committed to ensuring the safety of students, staff, and visitors in the event of an emergency situation. As such, during Safety Week (Monday, September 29 to Friday, October 3, 2025) and throughout the school year, schools in our Board practise various safety drills, including Fire Drills, Lockdown Drills, Hold and Secure Drills and Bomb Threat Drills. It is critical that all members of our school community become familiar with emergency protocols as they are designed to keep all of us safe at school. Please refer to Board Policy #669.0 for more information about Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Management.
Practising drills may create some anxiety for some students. If you are concerned about how these situations might impact the mental health and well-being of your child, please contact school administrators, as we have school mental health professionals available to support your child.
